Insurance & Fees

Each couples therapy session is $175 for 50 minutes of focused, personalized work. My practice is private pay, which means we work directly together without the limitations often imposed by insurance companies.

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept major credit cards as well as HSA/FSA cards. Upon request, I provide a detailed receipt (superbill) that you may submit to your insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Your investment includes more than the time we spend in session. It also reflects thoughtful preparation, clinical expertise, and intentional follow-through designed to help you make meaningful and lasting changes in your relationship.

Session Fees

I am an “out-of-network” provider choosing not to take insurance payments directly.

I choose not to bill insurance directly so that our work can remain focused on your goals and flexible enough to be the most personal and helpful — not on diagnostic requirements or session limits.

This is especially important for a practice that specializes in couples and family system dynamics. While there is extensive evidence that couples and family relationship counseling can improve individual health, insurance companies base their business on medical models rather than counseling outcomes.

That said, insurance companies may reimburse for a portion of couples and family counseling, but it does require a mental health diagnosis for one person and they may restrict the number or type of sessions covered. If that is something you would like to pursue I will work with you to provide the information you’ll need to submit to your insurance provider.

Relationship therapy is deeply personal work, and I believe it deserves flexibility, privacy, and care that is shaped by your needs as a couple. Working privately allows us to move at the pace that serves you best, without external constraints.

It protects your confidentiality and my ability to practice.

What does “private pay” mean?

Private pay simply means that you pay for sessions directly rather than through an insurance company.

This approach gives you greater confidentiality and full control over your therapy experience — from the direction of our work to the length of treatment. Many of my clients appreciate knowing that their work with me remains entirely between us.

It’s private.
